Itinerary: 4-days Desert tour

We will depart for the desert at 08:00 a.m. after breakfast in the Riad. Our journey to the desert will take us through the magnificent Atlas Mountain Range. First, we witness the splendour of the Middle Atlas cedar trees and enter the life of the Berber people as we pass through various mountain towns. We proceed via Ifrane, a lovely ski resort, and Azrou, a significant handicraft centre specialising in cedar woodwork. We pause for lunch in Midelt and take in the unusual scenery of this town perched between the middle and high Atlas mountains. We continue our journey to the desert through Erfoud, where we will spend the night at a guest home.

wake up at the crack of dawn if you desire it, ensuring you don't miss the mesmerizing beauty of the desert sunrise. As the brilliant colors of the sand create a beautiful contrast against the dunes, a mesmerizing palette of shadows is painted. After this lovely moment, you will eat breakfast. After breakfast, take some time to rest and unwind before starting on an exciting 4WD off-road excursion that will provide you with an immersive desert experience. Begin by meeting and engaging with desert nomads in their traditional tents to obtain an understanding of their distinct way of life. Then, travel over the stony desert's high plateau, taking in panoramic vistas of the dunes and varied desert landscapes. Your tour will take you to Mifis, a beautiful "Ghost Town" where antique eye cosmetics like Kohl and quartz were formerly discovered. You may also come across amazing fossils of turtles, trilobites, ammonites, and orthoclase, which were once inhabitants of this ancient sea millions of years ago. Continue your tour by visiting Khamlia Village, a village inhabited by people originally from deep Africa. Immerse yourself in the distinct sounds of Gnawa music, played by locals who are ancestors of ex-slaves who traveled to Morocco along the Salt Route from Senegal and Sudan. Lunch will include a live performance of Gnawa spiritual music and a delicious baked Berber pizza. Your trip will take you to the oasis of Merzouga,There you may explore the communal gardens and the nomadic repository and get a sight of shooting stars, giving a touch of fantasy to your desert adventure.Hike to the top of the dunes to watch the beautiful sun set, then relax by the fire with a warm supper and traditional music.

Watch the dawn before renting a sandboard to put your talents to the test. Leave the dunes and travel to the west to enter Rissani through a spectacular gate. Rissani, a market town, has a cattle auction and a "donkey parking lot. Visit a craft workshop in this town. It was a distinct kingdom known as Sijilmassa from the 8th through the 14th centuries. A wealthy caravan route commencing in Mali's capital Tombouctou and leading to several Moroccan cities such as Marrakech and Fes built a flourishing market there. The market still exists today. It is unique in that it is not a tourist souk, but rather serves the locals. It doubles in size three times a week (Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday) when farmers and nomads gather to sell their livestock, vegetables, dates, and other commodities, known as a sight worth (hearing) and experiencing. Pass through the acacia woodlands, which have umbrella-shaped trees. We’ll continue to Draa Valley, passing via Alnif, Tazarin, and N'Kob on the way. Then join the Draa Valley, which is bordered by palm trees , arrive to Ouarzazat in evening with hospitality with a cap of mint tea.

Explore the kasbah ait ben haddou and Taourirt . Continue discovering the kasbah Taourirt, The Imzwarn, a strong local family, erected the kasbah in the 17th century. At its peak in the late 9th century, the kasbah had a strategic position at the junction of many river basins, notably the Draa and the Dadès, which served as Saharan trade routes. Exploring Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is thought to originate from the 11th century when it maintained an important position along the trans-Saharan trade route between Marrakech, Ouarzazate, and the southern desert. Follow the small lanes up to the Granary for a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. Ascend the High Atlas mountain range, keeping an eye out for the highest peak, Mount Toubkal 4,167 m. We drop you off in your accommandtion.
